Ed's work is well know in the upper Ohio Valley. He
was a long time resident of Wheeling, W.Va. working in the
advertisement field.
His models were displayed at The Steifel Center Of Oglebay
Institute in Wheeling for many years.
His last work "The Farm" was finished shortly before his passing
away. In his Will he left his major works to the Oglebay
Institute.
The models had been in storage for may years and were shown for the first time in many years in 2000. To display the "Circus" I used a section of my Christmas Train layout, so the whole circus could be shown together.
The Farm was Ed's last of his works. It was covered
with animation which included, girls playing Hop Scotch, boy
swinging on the gate, swing on front porch, woman feeding
chickens that are eating from the ground, men drinking and
playing horse shoes, feeding pigs, man working in shop, boy
pushing friend around in a wheel barrow, man painting barn from a
ladder, man milking cow, cow's tail swinging, boy petting burro,
boy petting a skunk an it's tail raises, man flying a kite, boy
jumping on a diving board, boy swinging in a tire hanging from a
tree, man fishing and a hobo hitch kicking. I know there are more
moving items but they don't come to mind at this time.
Some of Ed's other works are "Winter in the City Park" and
"Santa's work shop". Both of them are animated.
In the future I may add a link to them.
