    The Ohio Valley is rich with natural resources. The coal, natural gas and salt brine found underground have made the area a fertile location for industrial activity. Steel mills, chemical plants, coal mines, aluminum factories, electrical power generators and construction trades are large contributors in the local economy. Their boundaries reach world wide. These companies provide many people with a very good standard of living and are responsible community neighbors.
 

    The area residents are predominately of European background. Every town in the valley is a friendly place to live with strong family values still in place.

NEW MARTINSVILLE, WV AS SEEN FROM OHIO
    Many local fairs and festivals provide entertainment and camaraderie to people from across the continent as we celebrate our varied heritage. We are all justifiably proud to call the towns along the winding Ohio River our homes.
 

    Many new primary and secondary schools are found in our towns and counties. People from all walks of life generously donate time and resources to ensure that our children receive a quality education and a sense of self worth. Many of our teachers are home grown products who wish to continue a tradition of academic excellence. Education can also be furthered at more than a half dozen local colleges.
 

    Activities are abundant in our area. Local high school sports showcase community talent and pride.
    Country music fans from all over travel to Wheeling, WV to visit Jamboree USA. The St. Clairsville, Ohio area boasts the annual Jamboree in the Hills each July and bills itself as "The Superbowl of Country Music".
    Tours buses line the highways each winter as visitors view the Oglebay Festival of Lights.
    Wheeling Downs gives patrons a chance to watch exciting greyhound racing or relax in their video gaming parlors.
